Recently I watched two tamil movies - Yudham Sei and Eesan. Found that both the movies were similar. Theme of the movie is atrocity meted out to girl and how the loved ones of the girl take revenge of the offenders. The suspense and the investigation surrounding this case.
In both the movies there were no prominent stars. The investigating officer of the case turns out to be the central character of the movie. What is so unique about these two movies is that the persons chosen for the role of investigating officer were not stylish,stereotype kind of actors. That was the highlight of these two movies.
There is a thin line of difference between both these movies. In Eesan, the investigating officer chosen is an unknown face and he is not given so much screen space in the movie. Whereas in Yudham Sei, the investigating officer is Cheran who is somewhat popular, but his role was very subtle in the movie. Cheran was a good choice for the movie.
Finally there is one thing I did not like about both the movies. Indeed it is a reflection of our society. In both the movies, there is taboo and social status attached to rape of a girl. It is believed that it is better even after the death of the girl if the public does not know that this girl was raped. It is a shame that our society incites a feeling of guilt to the victim and not the offender.
